Fitness and Body Image.com Health Newsletter Holiday/New Year’s Eve Health Newsletter It’s that time a year again, everyone eating that great holiday food, enjoying the relatives and setting those New Year’s resolutions. This is when a lot of people are thinking more about diets, fitness and health topics. It’s a lot better to already be in a healthier/fitness frame of mind, before the holidays, than to start one through the holidays. When we are in a healthy/fitness frame of mind, we tend to look for, crave different food choices and activities. The fatting/unhealthy foods are less desirable to the body. It’s never too late to start thinking and acting on a healthier lifestyle. It’s not good to use just guilt, from relatives, friends, whatever, for motivation. Guilt will wear off after while, we rationalize to ourselves to break down any fitness/health goals, until they are completely gone. That’s why most of your motivation needs to be from yourself, not guilt, social-pressure or family members. Ask yourself, who am I doing these personal health/fitness goals? Answer yourself back with a strong, I'm doing it for me and it’s something I want to! Others can be a great help when they believe in you and keep it positive about your goals. Try to avoid any negativity, discouraging people, whether they are at home, work, or wherever. Next don’t let bad feelings, negativity be associated with your personal fitness/health goals. You should enjoy the holidays with your family and not stress/worry about that piece of pie and where it will settle on your body. When you get temped around the holidays remember, everyone spurges now and then, don’t feel bad/tear yourself down for doing it. Let me explain when you go in the gym and feel bad, depressed for whatever reason, your mind will associate the gym with a bad feeling. It will be a lot easier to stay at home or just not go exercise next time that you have a chance. If you are felling/negative bad when you get the to gym, leave! Get in your car and take your bad/negative feeling to another place and dump them off. This could be a place you drive to, room in the house, old closet but NOT somewhere you regularly have to go on a daily basis. Then stay far away from this place except when you need to drop off/dump your mental trash. Really good nutritional help is to try to keep your glucose levels stable. When you go without food for long periods of time, your body will crave sugar because it wants energy. Sugar is one of the fastest sources of energy even though, it doesn’t last long. Try to eat good things through out the day and don’t let your body get to this starvation point. Now you have a great year and be the healthier person you want to be! You can do it!
